First Steps to Take to Be Compliant with the Blood Type Diet

What did I need to do in order to be compliant? What were the steps that I took initially to change my eating habits?

In this video, I will be sharing with you some of the practical steps I made to switch my eating habits to suit my blood type so that I could reap the health benefits of the Blood Type Diet:

Some of you prefer to listen to podcasts rather than watch videos. If that’s the case for you, please head over to my podcast channel on Soundcloud: http://bit.ly/BTD1stStepsPodcast

For those of you who would rather read text, here is a summary of what I mentioned in the video and podcast:

In order to follow the Blood Type Diet, first of all, I have had to minimize the amount of processed food and maximize the amount of whole foods that I ate. I also had to find clean sources of food, such as organic vegetables, grass-fed meat, free-range eggs and poultry, as well as wild-caught fish.

These are steps that are recommended by anyone promoting a healthy way of eating. But for the Blood Type Diet specifically, I have had to replace a number of ingredients that are harmful to my health. Since I am a Type O individual, I have had to replace all the foods made with wheat, sugar, dairy, corn, soy and pork, all of which I ate on a regular basis in the past.

What does it mean when it comes to my daily diet? That means I have to shift my eating habit by eating a lot more grass-fed red meat, fish and vegetables and a lot less grain-based food. This is what I’d call a “crowding out” strategy. When I fill my plates with beneficial foods, I get a wonderful feeling of satiation so that I won’t be craving sweet or starchy food, both of which have contributed to my ill health and weight gain in the past.

As for beverages, I had to replace my beloved coffee with something else that is beneficial. I found green tea, yerba mate and lemon water to be excellent replacements.

In the next video and podcast, I will be sharing some of the things that surprised me when I embarked on the Blood Type Diet. Stay tuned.

‘Open sesame!’ – Where I source my meat

‘Open sesame!’ – Where I source my meat

From time to time I’d like to share shopping tips with my readers. After all, what makes any dish truly special is the ingredients you use. Fresh and healthy ingredients can turn a simple dish into a restaurant-quality one.

When it comes to meat products, of course it would be great if we live near a farm that raises animals in a humane way. But many of us don’t have that “luxury.” As a city dweller, I have to rely on several dependable sources for my meat.

One of them is Butcher Box. It is one of the companies from which I source my meat. The meat I order from this company includes grass-fed beef and organic chicken (I’m a Type O).

  • Beef is Beneficial for Type O individuals, Neutral for Type B and should be avoided by Types A and AB.
  • Chicken is Neutral for Types A and O but an Avoid for Types B and AB.

I have tried out the different cuts curated by the company and they proved to be extremely delicious! Check out the ribeye steak and minced beef wrap that I made:

In the following “open box” video, I will show you what comes in the box and the reasons why I insist on choosing grass-fed beef and organic chicken versus conventional meat from “factory farms.”

As my reader and subscriber, you’ll get a special perk when subscribing to Butcher Box’s monthly delivery service. Just use the following link to sign up and you’ll get 10% off + 2lbs grass-fed ground beef on your first order: Butcher Box
